Choosing a Class The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to best group children in an age and developmentally appropriate way. Therefore, it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the term for the class in which you are enrolling. If you have concerns about your child’s success in a particular age range, I am happy to discuss your child’s needs and to work with you to place him in the class best suited to him.
Free Visits
At certain times during each session I am happy to schedule a free visit to one of my classes. Please call for availability.
Register Early
Although you may join our classes at any time, please register early since class sizes are limited. Registering at least four weeks before the term begins also ensures that I will have your child’s materials for you at your first class. If you enrol after the term begins, tuition can be pro-rated accordingly.
Enrollment Confirmation
A registration form and payment must be received before enrolment can be confirmed. You will receive a phone call, e-mail or mailed notice within two weeks to confirm your registration.
Refunds
Tuition funds or credit vouchers may be given if there are extenuating circumstances requiring withdrawal from class. All refund requests will be considered on an individual basis. The cost of materials and a £10 processing fee are non-refundable.
Re-scheduled Classes
Classes will be made up in the event of teacher illness. I will notify you of the cancellation and the re-scheduled class time.
Non-enrolled Siblings
Due to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the younger class settings, Village and Our Time classes can only accommodate non-enrolled siblings when the sibling is young enough to stay contented in the car carrier or stroller. Emergency exceptions are considered.
Making the most of Kindermusik Classes
Plan to arrive about 5-10 minutes early for class. Arriving a little before class provides time for your child to settle into the musical environment as they prepare to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or listening to music. We do request that toys, juice cups and dummies be kept out of sight, and that snacks be finished prior to class. Make sure you are comfortably dressed. Please also ensure that all mobile phones are switched off during the class.
During class the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged – what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver in class and at home are key to facilitating musical learning and growth.
You and your child will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home materials. Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the difference in a child’s comfort and participation in the classroom.
Please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail or telephone if I can be of further help. I look forward to having you and your child join us for a great session of Kindermusik classes!
